Super Hero Movie Has Sold 1 Million Tickets Already

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero has set another milestone since its release in Japan on June 11. The movie has now sold over 1 million tickets in the country in just 12 days according to the movie’s official Twitter account, making it a hit at the Japanese box office. The account also announced that the first five minutes of the movie will be released for a limited time on YouTube. The video might not be available for viewing outside of Japan, however.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero sold over 500,000 tickets in the first two days of its release, as the movie opened on 407 screens in the country. It even beat Top Gun Maverick, which did well worldwide. During this time, the movie made a massive 1.27 billion yen in under two weeks, which is around $9.42 million (73.90 crore rupees).

The film is also making its way to screens throughout the rest of the world in regions such as North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East, and the rest of Asia (excluding Japan). Crunchyroll is handling the release globally, and in India, the movie will be distributed by Sony Pictures India, as the company announced in May.

On June 15, Crunchyroll announced Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’s worldwide release dates, which brought the exciting news that the movie will premiere in India on August 26, 2022.
