Summer Game Fest 2022 attracted over 3.5 million concurrent viewers at its peak

During a year when E3 was scrapped and digital showcases continued to reign supreme, Summer Games Fest organizer Geoff Keighley claims the high-profile virtual event attracted a record number of viewers.

According to Keighley, over 27 million people tuned into Summer Game Fest 2022 numerous livestreams, representing an uptick of 8 percent on the previous year.

At its peak, Summer Game Fest attracted 3.5 million concurrent global viewers, while Twitter conversation was apparently up by 100 percent year-on-year.

The 2022 smorgasbord included virtual event such as the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Wholesome Games Direct, and Future Games Show.

Summer Games Fest will return in 2023. According to E3 organiser the ESA, the once unmissable event will also make a comeback next year with a “reinvigorated showcase that celebrates new and exciting video games and industry innovations.”
