Attend GDC Masterclass in-person at London Tech Week this June



It’s time to learn! The organizers of the Game Developers Conference are thrilled to announce that registration is now open for GDC Masterclass London 2022—with select courses taking place in-person at the AI Summit during London Tech Week this June.

The GDC Masterclass program comprises small-group virtual workshops that deliver in-depth training around some of the most important work and challenges facing game developers today. These live courses go beyond high-level theory into real world application, helping attendees acquire practical experience that can be applied immediately on return to the studio. Instructors will teach, guide, and work directly with you on short assignments that help build crucial skills to support your work in the studio or your next job hunt.

Four courses will be taking place June 15 and June 16 during London Tech Week at Tobacco Dock London. The GDC Masterclass pass ($1,755) not only provides attendees the opportunity to learn crucial topics one-on-one with qualified instructors, but also full access to the AI Summit during the event.

One-Day Courses:

Funding Your Studio: Pitching to VCs and Fundraising Strategy (with Jason Della Rocca)

Wednesday, June 15 | 10:00am to 6:00pm BST

Venture funding is a mystery to most developers. While there are tremendous amounts of capital in flow (the top dozen game VC firms have over $5 billion of capital under management), many developers struggle to gain access to those funding opportunities, or even understand what it means to be venture investible. This masterclass will demystify venture funding and give entrepreneurial developers the tools they need to score venture funding for their game studio.

Games for Health (with Noah Falstein and Dasy Mandel)

Wednesday, June 15 | 10:00am to 6:00pm BST

Learn about challenges, solutions, and opportunities in the rapidly growing business of Games for Health from an experienced designer and producer with decades of experience in the field.

Intro to Unity Shader Programming (with Russell Campbell)

Thursday, June 16 | 9:30am to 5:30pm BST

The course offers increased understanding of Unity game scripting and use of graphics hardware through shaders. The overall goal is to gain the skill of effectively passing data from C# scripts to shaders and making use of these data structures to create graphical effects at an efficiency otherwise not possible at real-time.

Two-Day Courses:

Modern Decision-Making Algorithms for Games (with Kevin Dill)

Wednesday and Thursday, June 15-16 | 1:00pm to 5:00pm BST

This course covers the most popular modern decision-making algorithms for game AI, and leaves attendees with a framework that they can take home and build upon for years to come.
